Working with hot glass

Supplies used:

Paragon Quikfire ® Kiln
Various glass
Small mold
Teardrop mold
Shelf
Kiln shelf wash
Haik brush
Safety glasses

Comments:

This project requires an adult. While kids and teens can assemble the project, an adult must operate the kiln as it can reach temperatures of 2000°F. The manufacturer’s instructions for the kiln are to be followed.

We have some ideas for Christmas and are experimenting with slumping glass into molds. It will take several hours for the glass/molds to reach room temperature so we have something to look forward to in the morning.

This simple Easter card was created by first cutting out a rectangle from yellow cardstock. Next the cardstock was scored and folded in half. Using the Jolee stickers, we placed ""Happy Easter" on the outside of the card along with a few "egg" stickers.
